To achieve psychological stability of a user in an automobile cabin while improving comfortableness in the automobile cabin.
A transparent electrode 26 is provided on a surface on a case 12 side of a lighting lens 14. Contact of a human body with a surface on an automobile cabin side of the lighting lens 14 changes an electrostatic capacity of the transparent electrode 26, and thereby the contact of the human body is detected. A control circuit on a circuit board 28 controls a lighting state of a room lamp 22 according to the change in the electrostatic capacity of the transparent electrode 26. An infrared sensor 30 is mounted on the circuit board 28. The control circuit controls the lighting state of the room lamp 22 based on a distance obtained from a signal from the infrared sensor 30. When approach of a human body is detected while the room lamp 22 is lit, the control circuit weakens the light. In addition, when approach of a human body is detected while the room lamp is in an extinction state, the control circuit slightly lights the room lamp 22.
