The lighting device 30 is provided with an optical lens 1 and a light source 2. The optical lens 1 is in a convex shape which can be obtained by cutting a spheroid with a plane parallel with a major axis and has a light emitting face 3a, a light incident face 3b, and a bottom face 4a connecting the light emitting face 3a and the light incident face 3b. An optical axis of the light emitted from the light source 2, an apex of the convex shape of the light emitting face 3a, and an apex of the concave shape of the light incident face 3b are included in a plane face orthogonally crossing a cut face of the cut spheroid, and in this plane face, the optical axis of the light source 2 is positioned between the apex of the convex shape of the light emitting face 3a and the apex of the concave shape of the light incident face 3b.
