Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the reflection factor of the light incidence end surface of a light guide plate by forming an end surface reflection preventive film on the light incidence end surface. CONSTITUTION:The transparent end surface reflection preventive film 14 is formed on the light incidence end surface 13 of an end part of the light guide plate 11, and the reflection factor nr of this end surface reflection preventive film 14 is made larger than the refractive index in air and smaller than the refractive index np of the light guide plate 11. The end surface reflection preventive film 14 reduce the difference in refractive index between the outside air and light guide plate 11. Further, a transparent in-tube reflection preventive film 21 which reduces the quantity of reflected light entering an outer package tube 17 is provided between the outer package tube 17 and a fluorescent film 18, and then the refractive index nx of the in-tube reflection preventive film 21 is made smaller than the refractive index nc of the fluorescent film 18 and larger than the refractive index ng of the outer package tube 17. Then this in-tube reflection preventive film 21 reduces the difference in refractive index between the outer package tube 17 and fluorescent film 18.
