To provide a lighting device in which the lower part of a light shielding part can be made bright and the feeling of openness can be obtained even at a daytime, and a roof structure with the lighting device using the device.
The lighting device is provided with a light guide plate 10 which is constituted so as to cover surroundings from the upper part to the lower part through the end of a light shielding part (roof 3 etc.) and a reflecting means 30 which is installed at the outside end face of the light guide plate opposing the end of the light shielding part. The sunlight is made to advance in the light guide plate 10 and reflected downward by the reflecting means 30, and guided from the upper part to the lower part of the light shielding part surrounding the end, and thereby the lower part of the light shielding part is made bright.
