To provide a lighting device and a lighting system capable of detecting a condition of an observer without giving anxiety to the observer.SOLUTION: The lighting device includes a light source unit, a vital sensor unit, a cover, and a control unit. The light source unit has a light source for illumination. The vital sensor unit includes one or more non-contact vital sensors. The cover covers the light source unit and the vital sensor unit.
