In the lighting device with a light control glass cover, the cover to which visible light penetrates is divided into a plurality of pieces, the pieces 8-1, 8-2 and 8-3 are served as light control glass, and optical characteristics of the pieces 8-1, 8-2 and 8-3 are electrically individually controlled. Since a light shielding (glare cut) angle can be changed by electrical switching, the device can maintain a prescribed property against the ward with various size, or when changing the layout of the ward. Further, by the combination of transparent and nontransparent states of the light control glass, the glare cutting area can be easily changed without changing the efficiency of the device.
