To provide a lighting device containing a light source using a light emitting element and a lighting circuit in a cover by a simple structure, securing a heat dissipation space for dissipating heat from the light emitting element, efficiently irradiating light from the light emitting element on an irradiation surface, and suppressing irradiation of the light on a non-irradiation surface to prevent the light pollution.
The lighting device includes: a light emitting unit including light emitting elements arranged on one surface side thereof and a heat dissipation means and a circuit for lighting the light emitting elements arranged on another surface side thereof; a tubular cover having a top portion closed and an opening on the base end side, and containing the light emitting unit with the light emitting unit inserted through the opening while the one face side of the light emitting unit is faced downward, and located below the central position of a cross section perpendicularly intersecting the light emitting unit in the longitudinal direction; and a base body closing the opening of the tubular cover and provided with a wiring section supplying power to the light emitting unit.
