Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a surface flaw inspecting method and its device capable of identifying whether the type of a flaw generated on a steel plate is harmless or not.
CONSTITUTION: A laser beam from a laser generator 10 is radiated to the surface of a steel plate S via a rotary reflector 12, the reflected light is received by a photoelectric converter 18 via a condensing lens 14 and a space filter 16, and the image signal is inputted to a control circuit 1. The image-processed image signal is inputted to a feature extracting means 5, it is image-processed and inputted to a flaw distribution generating means 6 for statistical processing, and the present flaw distribution data and the flaw distribution data read from an actual result flaw processing means 7 are compared by an identifying means 8 to specify a linear flaw in this surface flaw inspecting device.
