The lighting fixture comprises a light source part 11 having a straight tube fluorescent lamp 10, an apparatus main part 12 for supporting the light source part 11, a human detection sensor 17 for detecting existence of a human body in a detection region S of radial shape, and a control circuit part 18 for lighting the straight tube fluorescent lamp 10 on the basis of the detection result of the human detection sensor 17. The lighting region by the light source part 11 is located on one side against the plane passing the center line of the straight tube fluorescent lamp 10. Then, as for the human detection sensor 17, the center line C of the detection region S is fixed slanted against the perpendicular direction, so that the detection region S may be in a certain region within the lighting region.
