PURPOSE: To remove restrictions on the positional relation between a bar-shaped light guide and a light source and reduce the size of a lighting fixture in its longitudinal direction by guiding light from almost the overall length of the peripheral face of the light guide having phosphor material dispersed therein, and taking out scattered light and emitted light from the end face of the light guide.
CONSTITUTION: A lighting fixture main body 1 is in the form of a half of a cone cut in the direction of its height on a flat back plate 1a and has a front plate 1b of non-transparent material integrally coupled thereto and is isntalled with the bottom face side open face of the cone upward. A plurality of columnar light guides 3 each formed from translucent material and having phosphor material 4 dispersed therein are passed through and implanted in the front plate 1b. Light from a light source 2 is guided into each light guide 3 from almost the overall length of the periheral face of each light guide 3. Thus one part of scattered light or emitted light is totally reflected several times and is taken out from the end face of each light guide 3 so there is no necessity of aligning each light guide 3 and the light source 2; which should reduce the size of the lighting fixture and remove restrictions on the positional relation between each of the light guides 3 and the light source 2.
