To provide a lighting mechanism of a display panel with less restriction on a mounting position of a light emitting element.
The lighting mechanism includes a plate 10 of a transparent body with a front surface 10-1 as a display screen, an approximate triangular prism 14, and a light source L. A bottom surface of a hole 10a formed on a rear surface 10-2 of the plate 10 of the transparent body is an inclined surface 11, and light from the light source L through the approximate triangular prism 14 lights the inclined surface 11. An incident surface 14a to the approximate triangular prism 14 is made to be a curved surface projected to an outer side, and a reflecting surface 14b of the approximate triangular prism 14 for the light after incidence is made to be a curved surface projected to an outer side. The light from the light source L is converged on the inclined surface 11.
