PURPOSE: To provide a lighting system and a bulb type fluorescent lamp with less deterioration in appearance by preventing water droplets from depositing on the inner face of an outside bulb or a globe.

CONSTITUTION: For a lighting system and a bulb type fluorescent lamp, a water- repellent light transmissive coating 10 is formed on the inner face of a transparent outside glass bulb 6 in which a luminous tube bulb 2 (a fluorescent lamp 1) is stored or a glass globe 26. The water-repellent light transmissive coating covering the inner face of the double outside bulb or the globe prevents water droplets from depositing in a wide range to be condensed at one or more place, so that the whole inner face of the transparent bulb or the globe is prevented from clouding and disappearing. If a light scattering film is formed, water droplets are prevented from entering into the scattering film by the water- repellent coating and so the light scattering film is prevented from losing its light scattering property.
