To provide a lighting system for emergency which does not require replacement of a secondary battery even when the number of luminaires increases or decreases while reducing a size of the luminaire.
The lighting system for emergency includes a power supply device 2 connected to an AC power supply 1, and a plurality of luminaires 3, 3' for respectively receiving power supply from the power supply device 2. The respective luminaires 3, 3' include a light emitting diode 8 as a light source, and the secondary battery 9 as a power supply for emergency for supplying power to the light emitting diode 8 during interruption of the AC power supply 1. During energization of the AC power supply 1, the secondary battery 9 is charged while the light emitting diode 8 is lightened by an output from the power supply device 2. During the interruption of the AC power supply 1, the light emitting diode 8 is lightened by using power charged in the secondary battery 9 by switching elements 11, 12, 13 to a b-contact side.
