This lighting system for inspection of eggs comprises a light source/condensation part AB comprising a light source and a condensing part for the beams of light given by the light source, an optical fiber cable C transmitting the light from the condensation part, and a light emission part D for irradiating eggs E with the light transmitted through the cable. The light source/ condensation part connected with AC mains is located over the conveying surface of a conveyor CV for eggs so that the electric leakage and electric shock accident caused by the lighting system being covered with water are precluded. The light emission part is located under the transporting surface of the conveyor, and the eggs are irradiated from below so that it well suits the egg inspecting operation.
