Abstract:
PURPOSE:To minimize power consumed at positions except an LED, and to obtain a device having excellent efficiency by using a choke coil for limiting currents and interrupting currents at a proper period. CONSTITUTION:An LED group 2 is connected in the forward direction to a power supply 6 in series with a chock coil 1, and an LED group 5 is connected in reversed polarity to the power supply in parallel. A transistor 3 for interrupting currents interrupts currents at a predetermined period controlled by the output from a pulse oscillator 4. When the transistor 3 is turned ON, the LEDs 2 emit light, and electromagnetic energy is stored in the choke coil 1. When the transistor 3 is turned OFF, currents passing through the LED group 2 are interrupted, and energy stored in the choke coil 1 is discharged as currents passing through the LED group 5 and the LED group 5 emits light. The LED groups 2 and 5 repeat light emission every time currents are interrupted. When the period of current interruption is sufficiently rapid, light emission does not flicker, and stable lighting is enabled.
