Abstract:
This illumination system comprises a light source part and an illumination part. The light source part has a light source which outputs first light having a first wavelength spectrum and an optical system through which the first light passes, and emits the first light that has passed through the optical system. The illumination part has a wavelength conversion part, which is irradiated by the first light emitted from the light source part and which generates second light having a second wavelength spectrum differing from the first wavelength spectrum in accordance with the irradiation of the first light, and emits illumination light including the second light. The wavelength conversion part has a surface to be irradiated that is irradiated by the first light. The light spot diameter of the first light at the surface to be irradiated is larger than the beam waist diameter of the first light that has passed through the optical system.
