To provide a lighting system which can save trouble of changing a light source which is out of order and therefore decrease the maintenance cost even when one of the light sources such as fluorescent tubes, etc., goes out of order by adopting such a configuration that the decrease in illumination is apparently small and the light source being out of order is hard to be recognized in such an occasion.
A lighting system includes light sources 16 (16A, 16B, and 16C) such as fluorescent tubes, etc., a light reflecting member 14 having a light reflecting function arranged at a backside of the light sources 16, and a light diffusing member 18 having a light diffusing function arranged in a front side of the light source 16. Preferably, the light reflecting member 14 is made of a reflecting plate whose surface is frost processed, and the light diffusing member 18 is made of a light diffusing plate, on at least one side of which a light diffusing layer including an organic high polymer binder and organic high polymer particles is provided.
