To provide a lightning resistance overhead ground wire in which improvement of lightning impulse resistance performance can be realized easily.

Zinc containing grease 10 mixing zinc powder in grease 8 is filled into the inner clearance of a stranded wire 5 of the overhead ground wire 21 of, for example, an optical fiber compound type, or is coated on the circumferences. In the lightning stroke, electric wire protective effect of zinc to absorb lightning energy as evaporation heat because zinc powder in the zinc containing grease evaporates, is shown, and lightning impulse resistance ability of the overhead ground wire is improved. When a conductive grease is used as the grease, lightning impulse resistance is improved further. There is hardly weight increase by countermeasures such as increase of electric wire size. This is inexpensive in comparison with a method to coat zinc thickly on the individual element wire, and manufacturing is easy.
