Abstract:
To provide a lightweight member (100).
The lightweight member 100 comprises a metal body or shell 1 which comprises an inside surface 20 and an outside surface 23 with the inside surface 23 of the body provided with an internal space 26, and plastic (thermo-plastic material) reinforcing ribs (2a and 2b) fitted to the outside surface 23 of the body 1. The reinforcing rib is secured to the outside surface of the body by an inconsistent connection part 3 {an opening 3a, a bead 3b, a projection 3c, and a groove 3f}. A product that comprises the lightweight member includes a structural member of an automobile and aircraft, and a passage at least for one of a wiring and gas.
