To provide a limit switch with high detection sensitivity.
An upper end of an operation shaft 30 exposed from a ceiling face of a switch body 20 housed in a housing is driven by a plunger supported by the housing movably upward and downward, and a limit switch opening/closing a contact point is provided with a pair of rotary tongue pieces 46 and 47 rotatably supported by a pair of support shafts 43 and 44 parallely arranged between the switch body 20 and the plunger. A free end of one rotary tongue piece 46 is brought into contact with an upper end of the operation shaft 30, and a free end of the other rotary tongue piece 47 is brought into contact with an upper face of the rotary tongue piece 46. A displacement enlarging mechanism section 40 in contact with a lower end of the plunger is arranged on the upper face.
