To provide a limit switch for preventing a nonconformity that an operating part does not push a tip part of a turning-motion making lever, if the limit switch or the operating part is out of position, when the operating part is to push the tip part of the turning-motion making lever of the limit switch.
With respect to a width A of a turning-motion making lever 10, its tip part 10a has a surface of a sidewise widened width B, and the width of its tip root part 10e therebelow is formed narrower than the width A. Assembly is conducted, such that turning spindles 10b, 10c of the turning-motion making lever 10 are inserted in holes 5a, 5b respectively in a main body 5. Thereafter an insertion end 10f on a side of the tip part 10a of the turning-motion making lever 10 is put through a hole 8a in a cover 8 erected vertically, and the cover 8 is lowered downwards while caused to make a turning motion relative to the turning-motion making lever 10. Because of this, assembly is enabled, despite the width B of the tip part 10a being wider than the width A of the turning-motion making lever 10, and nonconformities hardly occur even if the width of an operating part on the side of an apparatus is narrow and even if a relative position between the operating part and the limit switch is displaced.
