Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the number of inter-ring lines and to effectively use the line by providing two branch stations in an equal state in one and the same and providing two transmission lines sending an identical signal from a branch station to a branch station of the other ring.
CONSTITUTION: Since branch stations are operated independently, a transmission signal from a top ring station 3 to a bottom ring station 9 is sent from the station 3 to a close branch station 2 through a transmission line (b) and sent from the branch station 2 to a branch station 8 through an active transmission line w1 leading to the bottom ring. The standby line is a transmission line s1 and a station 8 selects the active/standby line. The signal is sent to the station 9 through the selection of a transmission line (d) closer to the branch station 8. Furthermore, a reception signal from the bottom ring station 9 to the top ring station 3 is sent from the station 9 to the branch station 8 through a transmission line (c) and sent to the branch station 2 through an active transmission line w2. The standby line is a transmission line s2 and the branch station 2 selects the active/standby line. The reception signal reaches the station 3 through a transmission line (a).
