To provide a method for removing hot gas deposits (18) from a system (10) by pressure pulses.
The method includes steps of: adjusting flow of mixture of detonation fluid (36) and oxidant (38) to an expansion chamber (30), and generating detonation within the expansion chamber (30) by igniting mixture of the detonation fluid (36) and the oxidant (38) in the expansion chamber (30), and generating a high-pressure wave. While the system (10) is performing combustion operation, a high-pressure wave propagating at supersonic speed along a fluid passage of the system (10) removes hot gas deposits (18) within fluid passage, and the expansion chamber (30) directs the high-pressure wave toward the fluid passage of the system (10).
