Abstract:

To provide this line-indicating reading instrument capable of appropriately indicating a page and a line, of a book, where it is suspended to read it temporarily, without fear about omission, when a reader resumes reading the book.

This line-indicating reading instrument consists of an upper engaging body 2 slidable through a hollow cylinder 1 in the longitudinal direction and a lower engaging body 3 fixed to the lower end part of the cylinder 1 as one example of practical use. A tensile coil spring 5 is interposed between the upper and the lower engaging body 2, 3. In addition, a pair of opposed engaging hooks 4 are provided on both engaging bodies, and a line indicator 6 for indicating a page and the number of lines of a book where the reading is suspended is provided on the lower engaging body 3. Further, a guide rail 10 incorporating an iron wire 9, with a magnet knob 11 is installed in the longitudinal direction of the outer periphery of the cylinder 1. Besides, a magnet 13 may be fixed to the top part of the upper engaging body 2 as an option choice.
