The on-line karaoke system comprises a managing server for storing a local server ID and a karaoke terminal ID contained in a failure notice from a karaoke terminal, transmitting a global server ID as a demand-side server ID to the karaoke terminal, monitoring the restoration situation of the local server of the stored ID, and transmitting the local server ID as the demanding server ID to the karaoke terminal, when the local server is restored; a global server for distributing karaoke data to the local server and transmitting the karaoke data to the karaoke terminal which has demanded the data; a local server for transmitting the karaoke data to the karaoke terminal which has demanded the data; and the karaoke terminal for storing the demanding server ID received from the managing server, performing failure notice processing, when failure in the local server from a response situation to a data demand to the demanding server is recognized, and reproducing and outputting the returned karaoke data when failure is not recognized.
