Title:
LINE-LENGTH DETECTING PEN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02232505
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To shorten the transmitting time of measured data and to make it possible to utilize a host computer effectively by converting a pulse signal which is the measured data of line lengths into a code signal, and sending the signal into the host computer from a detecting pen. CONSTITUTION:A roller 4 at the tip part of a detecting pen 1 is brought into contact with a test specimen. The intermittent signal of light obtained through slits 3 of the roller undergoes optoelectronic transducing action in a photointerruptor 5, and a pulse signal is obtained. The pulse signal is temporarily stored in buffers (counters) 7 and 7' housed in the pen 1. A transmission request signal is sent into a host computer 12 from a control part 8 of the pen 1. When a transmission enabling signal is returned from the computer 12, the measured data stored in the buffers 7 and 7' are converted into a code signal with a CPU in the control part 8. the buffers 7 and 7' are enabled, and the code signal is sent out. Therefore, the time for exchanging the measured data between the computer 12 and the pen 1 can be made short to a large extent.
