To provide a line length-measuring device for a spinning reel, which has a solar battery and a secondary battery charged with the solar battery, and which can easily and highly accurately measure the length of a line on the basis of the rotation number of a spool, even when the leaning of the device is interrupted.
The line length-measuring device 50 includes a solar battery, a secondary battery, a line winding-leaning portion 51, a failure-informing portion 52, a memory portion 41, a line-winding data selection portion 54, and a line length-calculating portion 53. The line winding-leaning portion is operated with the secondary battery to learn the relation between the spool rotation number and the length of the line. The failure-informing portion informs the principle, when the learning of the line is failed. The memory portion preliminarily memorizes the relations of spool rotation numbers with the line lengths in the different whole lengths of a plurality of lines. The line-winding data selection portion can select one from a plurality of the memorized line-winding data. The line length-calculating portion can select an operation for selecting the line-winding data from a line winding data-selecting portion, and can calculate a line length from the selection result, when the failure-informing portion informs the learning failure.
