To provide a linear actuator capable of improving an output by reducing the weight of a movable portion without an increase in cost and degradation in durability.
This linear actuator 10 consists of a housing 16 provided with facing side yokes 20 and an outer yoke connecting them, a magnet 24 disposed on the outer yoke, an inner yoke 22 of which both ends are supported by the respective side yokes 20, and a coil 28 wound around a bobbin 26 inserted around the inner yoke 22. An opening portion extending in parallel to the inner yoke 22 is formed at the housing 16, and a guide 32 provided with a movable deck 14 is disposed on the outside of the opening portion. The coil 28 or the bobbin 26 is jointed to the top end of the arm 34 extending in the housing 16 from the movable deck 14 through the opening portion, and the coil 28 or the bobbin 26 is supported on the side over a total circumference by the movable deck 14 so as to be separated from the inner yoke 22.
