To provide a linear actuator which achieves miniaturization and allows positioning by mounting a compact displacement sensor.
The linear actuator is equipped with a screw part rotatably driven by a driving motor, a nut part screwed to the screw part and a slider mounted in the nut part, wherein the slider linearly moves together with the nut by the rotation of the screw part, and includes a guide 7 for restraining both side surfaces of the slider, a first antenna 15 mounted in a side wall on an anti-slider side of the slider, a second antenna 16 mounted in a side wall on an anti-slider side opposed to the first antenna, and a third antenna 17 mounted in both side walls of the slider so as to be sandwiched between the first and second sliders. By so doing, positioning information of the sliders is detected by the variation in electrostatic capacity when the position of the third antenna varies with respect to the first and second sliders.
