In a linear compressor in which structural elements are housed in a sealed container 8, and its linear motor part 30 is provided on the outer periphery of a piston part 20, a suction pipe 85 is fixed to the trunk part 83 of the sealed container 80, in the scope separated from the linear motor part 30 and a discharge mechanism part, and the suction pipe 85 is provided almost opposing to a suction port 15 communicating to a switching mechanism provided to a piston main body 28. As a result, a coolant in the suction pipe 85 is led to the suction port 15 side, not almost being heated.
