To provide a steel brush member for preventing the slipping off or breaking of steel brush element wires from occurring, and to provide a cylindrical steel brush and a manufacturing method for the steel brush.
In the steel brush wherein the base sections of a large number of steel brush element wires are inserted and fixed in a linear or ring-like steel channel which has a U-shaped cross section, and the opening section of which faces the outer peripheral side. In the steel brush, the base section of the steel brush element wire is formed into a solid section which is fixed with a synthetic resin, and fixed by engagement with an engaging piece which is projected inward from the steel channel wall by fitting the base section in the steel channel. Then, both mouth edge sections of the steel channel are bent to the outside for this linear or disk-like brush member for a rotary brush. By the linear or disk-like steel brush member, the loosening or slipping off, and breakage of the steel brush can successfully be prevented from occurring. A synthetic resin channel can be used instead of the steel channel, or a synthetic resin element wire can be used instead of the steel brush element wire.
