To provide a new linear guide device and a lubrication unit, which are reduced in manufacturing cost, while sufficiently supplying a lubricant to a raceway surface of a guide rail.
The present invention has the lubrication unit 30 on an end surface of a slider 20 of the linear guide device 100. The lubrication unit 30 has: a case 32 attached-detached to the end surface of the slider 20; and an oil retaining member 31 journaled in the case 32 and rollingly contacting with the respective raceway surfaces 11 and 12 of the guide rail 10. Thus, lubricating oil is effectively supplied to the respective raceway surfaces 11 and 12 of the guide rail 10, and frictional force with its raceway surfaces 11 and 12 is also reduced. Since this lubrication unit 30 is installed on the end surface of the slider 20, an existing slider 20 can be used as it is, and thus, the manufacturing cost is reduced.
