PURPOSE: To provide a linear induction type electromagnetic pump in which various problems such as damage of an induction coil due to pour of molten metal when a ceramic passage is cracked due to a heat shock, etc., necessity of a periodical removal of slag caught by an iron core supporting material provided in the passage, deterioration of cooling efficiency of coil and core due to disposition of the induction coil, etc., can be eliminated.

CONSTITUTION: A ceramic rectangular tube transfer passage 2, a plurality of coils 3 and its core 4 aranged in a longitudinal direciton on the outer surface of the passage, and a power supply controller for controlling frequency, current density, etc., of AC power to be supplied to the coils, are provided. The passage is desirably formed of aluminum titanate. An air chamber 5 having a plurality of chilled gas ejectors 6 for cooling the coils and the core may be desirably provided on a base 1 of an electromagnetic pump.
