PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motion mechanism capable of suppressing poor lubrication.SOLUTION: A linear motion mechanism includes: a screw shaft 30 formed with a spiral first screw groove 30m on an outer peripheral surface; a nut 311 formed with a spiral second screw groove 311m which is opposite to the first screw groove 30m and in which the screw shaft 30 is inserted; a load ball 316 which rolls and advances in a transfer path M formed by the first screw groove 30m and the second screw groove 311m; a retainer piece 32 which advances in the transfer path M with the load ball 316; and a lubricant supply portion which supplies a lubricant G onto a road surface of the transfer path M. The retainer piece 32 has a retainer body portion 321 formed with recessed surfaces 321a contacted with the adjacent load ball 316 at outer peripheral edges on both sides in an advancing direction; and a lubricant contacting portion 322 projecting out to the road surface side of the transfer path M than the outer peripheral ends of the recessed surfaces 321a, and formed so as to contact with the lubricant G supplied onto the road surface of the transfer path M.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
