PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate centering in a linear motion mechanism configured to convert rotary motion of a pinion gear into a linear motion of a rack.SOLUTION: A linear motion mechanism includes: a shaft extending cylindrically; a carriage arranged so as to cover the shaft on a radial outside of the shaft; and a slide bearing arranged between the carriage and the shaft, at an end part of the carriage.
