PURPOSE: To provide a simple and highly reliable linear motor work conveyor in which the traveling speed of work mounting truck is switched when a work is mounted and not mounted.

CONSTITUTION: A secondary conductor 6 is fixed to the under face of a truck 5 traveling on a guide rail 2 on which a linear motor truck 3 is laid. The linear motor truck 3, arranged intermittently with linear motor units 3a, is then driven to induce eddy currents in the secondary conductor 6 thus imparting thrust to the truck 5. A secondary conductor displacement mechanism 7 having pantograph structure, for lifting the secondary conductor 6 by means of the weight of a work 4 mounted on the truck 5, is mounted on the truck 5. Traveling speed of the truck 5 is switched between low and high speeds according to the distance between the linear motor unit 3a and the secondary conductor 6.
