Abstract:
To provide a linear object comprising a magnesium alloy which has excellent heat resistance and excellent plastic workability.
Specifically disclosed is a linear object comprising a magnesium alloy, which contains 0.1 to 6% by mass of Y and additionally contains at least one element selected from the group consisting of 0.1 to 6% by mass of Al, 0.01 to 2% by mass of Zn, 0.01 to 2% by mass of Mn, 0.1 to 6% by mass of Sn, 0.01 to 2% by mass of Ca, 0.01 to 2% by mass of Si, 0.01 to 2% by mass of Zr and 0.01 to 2% by mass of Nd, with the remainder being Mg and unavoidable impurities. The linear object has a creep strain of 1.0% or less as measured in a creep test at a temperature of 150°C and a stress of 75 MPa for 100 hours.
