Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable to drive a linear pulse motor at a high speed and to improve the positioning accuracy of the motor by employing the motor having a plurality of poles of different pitches. CONSTITUTION:A stator has a pole row 7 of large pitch and pole row 9 of 1/4 of the pitch of the row 7. A runner 5 has pole teeth 11 of large pitch corresponding to the rows 7, 9 and pole teeth 13 of small pitch, and a magnetic shielding member 15 of nonmagnetic material such as aluminum, copper or brass is used to couple between the teeths 11 and 13. The pole teeths 7, 11 of large pitch are switched and utilized for the ordinary running by utilizing the pole teethes 9, 13 of small pitch at the starting and stopping times.
