To provide a linear thermal fuse of high safety whose diameter can be made thin, and whose linear conductor is perfectly broken, and prevented from recombination when it is exposed to an abnormal temperature.

In the linear thermal fuse with a fuse core covered with an insulating covering in which an insulating core material and the linear conductor are continuously intertwined with each other, both the insulating core material and the linear conductor melt when the linear thermal fuse is exposed to an abnormal high temperature. The insulating core material is composed of multiple filaments. The linear conductor is made of a lead-free solder wire, and the insulating core material is formed of a polyethylene terephthalate fiber. When the linear thermal fuse is exposed to an abnormal high temperature, the insulating core material melts and shrinks simultaneously.
