Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remarkably increase the SN-ratio, by floating control of the arm base in noncontact utilizing the repulsion force by permanent magnets and providing the Hall elements at the center of the driving coil.

CONSTITUTION: The unit consists of the floating control parts 2, 3 to give a part of floating force in the direction of (z) and a suitable damping to the arm base 1, control part 4 to hold the force in the direction of (y) (tangential direction of record grooves), and driving part 5 to make the movement in the direction of (x) (tracking direction). The floating control part 2 has the permanent magnets 10, 11 in strip shape having different surface magnet poles 10a, 10b and 11a, 11b, and it is provided with the driving coils 12a, 12b, to constitute the electromagnetic driving means. A constant current I flows to the Hall elements 13a, 13b to constitute the position detecting means, and if the current I and the magnetic flux B are as shown in figure, the potential at point (b) is higher than the point (a) and if the direction of the magnetic flux B is inverse, the potential at point (b) is lower than that at point (a).
