PURPOSE: To provide a lined structure of a rotary kiln firing zone which achieves an endurance more than five times greater than that of the prior art lined structure of the rotary kiln by enabling non-chromium conversion of a lined refractory of the rotary kiln and the obtaining of a stable coating adhesion to accomplish a prevention of rise in the temperature of a shell and a saving of energy.
CONSTITUTION: In a lined refractory of a rotary kiln firing zone, a spalling resisting spinel refractory 2 is laminated with a coating adhesive spinel refractory 1 in an alternate array to build a lined structure of the rotary kiln firing zone with recesses and protrusions worked on the internal surface of the rotary kiln. The alternate array of the refractories can be replaced with a checker structure or a zebra structure in which the refractories are arranged in the axial direction of the kiln or in the direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the kiln. At the same time, a coating adhesive spinel refractory/is used for the recessed parts of each refractory while a spalling resisting spinel refractory 2 for the protruded parts thereof.
