To provide a lining member for a box, which prevents dropping of an article stored inside the box such as a glove compartment and easily attaches/detaches to/from the box.

The lining member 1 is shaped into a generally U-shape cross section having a lower plate part 14, an upper plate part 15 and a back plate part 16 by bending one metal thin plate. An end on the near side (cabin side) of the lower plate part 14 is held up from a bottom plate part 9, is bent so as to surround the periphery of an end edge on the near side of the bottom plate part 9, and is folded back to the near side at the lower part on the near side of the bottom plate part 9, and the folded back part abuts upon the front surface of a lower panel 5. Thereby, an dam part 17 inflated to outside the box 2 from the end on the near side of the bottom plate part 9 is formed at the end on the near side of the lower plate part 14.
