To provide a link geometry of a multi-link engine which does not cause deformation of a cylinder liner even if the rigidity of a cylinder liner becomes weak due to formation of a defect part in the lower end of the cylinder liner.
The link geometry of the multi-link engine includes: an upper link 11 connected to a piston 32; a lower link 12 which is fitted to a crank pin 33b of a crank shaft 33 freely rotatably and is connected to the upper link 11; and a control link 13 which is connected to the lower link 12 and rocks around a rocking center shaft 24. The crank pin 33b is arranged on a line connecting an upper pin 22 to a control pin 23, and an angle formed by a traverse axis passing the axis center of a crank journal 33a and crossing at a right angle to the cylinder axial line and a line connecting the control pin 23 to the upper pin 22 is nearly the same in the top dead center and in the bottom dead center of the piston.
