Abstract:
To provide a method for producing lipid in which productivity of medium-chain fatty acid or lipid having the fatty acid as a constituent component is improved, and a transformant in which productivity of medium-chain fatty acid or lipid having the fatty acid as a constituent component is improved.SOLUTION: A method for producing lipid in which a transformant, into which gene coding the following proteins (A) or (B) and gene coding acyl-ACP thioesterase having substrate specificity to medium-chain acyl-ACP are introduced, is cultured, and fatty acid or lipid having the fatty acid as a constituent component is produced. (A) protein which consists of an amino acid sequence expressed by sequence number 41, and (B) protein which consists of an amino acid sequence having 90% or more of identity with respect to the amino acid sequence of the protein (A) and has β-ketoacyl-ACP synthase activity.SELECTED DRAWING: None
