Abstract:
A method for producing a lipid, said method comprising culturing a transformant, in which the expression of a gene encoding one of proteins (A) to (F) is promoted, and thus allowing the transformant to produce a fatty acid or a lipid comprising the same as a constituent. (A) A protein which comprises the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:2. (B) A protein which comprises an amino acid sequence having 89% or more sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of the aforesaid protein (A) and has an acyl CoA synthetase activity. (C) A protein which comprises the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:4. (D) A protein which comprises an amino acid sequence having 49% or more sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of the aforesaid protein (C) and has an acyl CoA synthetase activity. (E) A protein which comprises the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:6. (F) A protein which comprises an amino acid sequence having 85% or more sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of the aforesaid protein (E) and has an acyl CoA synthetase activity.
