Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03236325
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a liposome, containing a specific phosphatidylcholine, acidic phospholipid and cholesterol as membrane ingredients and capable of selectively killing and destroying virus-infected cells without exhibiting toxicity to uninfected normal cells.

CONSTITUTION: A liposome containing (A) phosphatidylcholine having <37°C phase transition temperature, e.g. phosphatidylcholine having myristoyl or lauroyl group as the acyl group or lecithin derived from an animal or plant, (B) an acidic phospholipid, e.g. phosphatidylserine or phosphatidylglycerol originating from an animal and (C) cholesterol as membrane ingredients. The amounts of the respective ingredients are preferably within the range of 60-100mol% ingredient (A), 0-20mol% ingredient (B) and 0-50mol% ingredient (C) and especially preferably at 5:1:2 molar ratio of the ingredients (A):(B):(C).
