Abstract:
To provide lipoxygenase activity inhibitors that are derived from natural products, have excellent inhibitory action against 5-lipoxygenase and 12-lipoxygenase that participates in the arachidonic acid metabolism, and can prevent and treat allergic diseases, inflammations, further circulatory system diseases and cancer metastasis.
The lipoxygenase inhibitor according to this invention is provided by mixing one or two or more kinds of alcohol extracts of perilla seeds containing luteolin, chrysoeryol, rosmarinic acid, methyl rosmarinate and apigenin. As seeds for the invention, the defatted ones are preferably used. The seeds of Perilla frutescens plant may be used instead of the perilla seeds.
