Title:
LIQUEFIED LIGNOCELLULOSE-STARCH SOLUTION AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3477503
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the solution having a specified high biomass concentration by heating a liqnocellulosic material in the presence of an acid catalyst and a polyhydric alcohol, adding a starch thereto after the feed liqnocellulosic material begins to liquefy, and further continuing heating.
CONSTITUTION: A lignocellulosic material (e.g. wood or vegetable fibers) is heated in the presence of an acid catalyst (e.g. sulfuric or toluenesulfonic acid) and a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. polyethylene glycol or glycerin). A starch is added thereto at least after the feed lignocellulosic material begins to substantially liquefy, and heating is further continued. The produced liquefied lignocellulose- starch solution contains the lignocellulosic material in an amount of at least 12wt.%, the acid catalyst, the polyhydric alcohol and the starch, with the total content of the lignocellulosic material and the starch being at least 35wt.%.
