Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge capable of detecting the consumption amount of ink continuously and capable of detecting a slight change in the amount of ink and to easily detect the consumption amount of ink by preventing the remaining of ink in a cavity even after the consmption of ink when there is a cavity at a part detecting the consumption amount of the ink in the ink cartridge.
SOLUTION: An ink cartridge is mounted in an ink jet recording apparatus having a recording head ejecting ink drops to supply a liquid to the recording head. The ink cartridge is equipped with a liquid housing container, a liquid supply port and a piezoelectric device for detecting the consumed state of the liquid in the container. The piezoelectric device is arranged so as to be inclined with respect to the surface of the liquid.
