Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid cosmetic containing an N-long chain acyl basic amino acid derivative and a chitosan compound, exhibiting good transparency, high moisture retainability and skin affinity, having a sufficient antimicrobial property, low in irritability and capable of having a proper viscosity.
SOLUTION: This cosmetic contains one or more of compounds of formula I, formula II and formula III [RCO is a 6-20C fatty acid residue; X is NH2, OCH3, OC2H5, OCH2C6H5, etc.; (n) is 3, 4] and their acid adduct salts, and chitisan, its derivative or their mixture as active ingredients. The compounds of formula I, formula II and formula III are contained in an amount of 0.001-0.5wt.%, and the chitosan is contained in an amount of 0.001-10wt.%. The compounds of formula I, formula II and formula III include N-hexanoyl-L- arginamide. The liquid cosmetic exhibits an antimirobial property against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, acne bacteria, Candida, Aspergillus niger, etc.
